  1. By what metric does Michigan match with a 9 seed? Sagarin #16 (4 seed), KenPom #23 (6 seed), RPI #28 (7 seed) are all materially off from a #9. Just curious what you are using?

  2. Hey Brent. Thanks for reading the site. We had a delay in updating the site so the data used for this update was using data through Saturday’s games (which excludes Michigan’s win over Ohio State).
    At that point, Michigan was 25 in KP but had an RPI of 38 and only 2 Quad 1 wins, which was less than everyone in front of them except Nevada, Gonzaga, and Rhode Island.
    The next update will reflect that Michigan should be higher than they were. They are also going to be a dangerous team in the tournament because their resume isn’t as good as they are (evidenced by their KenPom and Sagarin rankings).
